Vitamin A

Vitamin A, or retinyl palmitate (its most common form), is a fat soluble vitamin with a wide variety of functions/effects in the body, including: vision, gene transcription, immune function, embryonic development and reproduction, bone metabolism, red blood cell formation, skin health, and antioxidant activity. Retinyl palmitate is converted to retinol in the small intestine, and other food/supplement sources include the carotene family.
