A number of weeks back Dymatize announced a first in the supplement space and the protein powder category. Where as most companies will try to mimic the flavor of various candies and cereals, nobody has ever used the official formula or officially licensed a flavor, which is why something is always called "Chocolate Peanut Butter", instead of "Reeces Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup".
Well, Dymatize became the first supplement line to officially license a cereal flavor when they announced a while back a collaboration with Post Cereal, and revealed they would be rolling out a Fruity Pebbles, and a Cocoa Pebbles flavored ISO 100 Protein Powder.
Whenever something gets dented here around the office it becomes a taste test item, so we were thrilled to see a dented tub of the new Fruity Pebbles Dymatize ISO 100 this morning.
Upon opening the tub you're immediately hit in the face with that familiar Fruity Pebbles scent. You can also see chunks of Fruity Pebbles Cereal in the protein powder as well.
Now typically I'm not someone who likes protein powders mixed with water, I prefer the taste and texture of coonut milk or at milk, however this review is going to be based on this protein powder mixed with water.
After making my protein shake, upon the first sip it takes you right back to Saturday mornings and watching cartoons with a bowl of sugary cereal. It has the exact taste of fruity pebbles. Overall it was excellent.
I would like however to try it with some coconut milk or oat milk and I'm sure not only would the texture be even better, but it would likely taste like the leftover milk after two bowls of Fruity Pebbles.
While Fruity Pebbles is delicious, I think most of us actually preferred Cocoa Pebbles if pressed between the two. The Cocoa Pebbles has been steady sold out since release, but once that one comes in stock we'll let you guys know and hopefully bring you a review as well.
