Life extension vitamin B3 Niacin is important for general good health. Niacin can help improve cholesterol levels and lower cardiovascular risks. A deficiency of any B vitamin can affect optimal functioning of organ systems throughout the body. Niacin is the only B vitamin that can be synthesized in liver from the amino acid tryptophan.
